SANDAKAN: Umno Sabah chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin showed up at Kampung Sim-Sim here on Monday night to convince voters to vote for Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS)’s candidate, Datuk Linda Tsen Thau Lin.

Despite facing three corruption charges, the Kinabatangan Member of Parliament’s presence was well-received by the locals when over 200 people showed up at the venue .

The crowd cramped into the small space and chanted ‘Linda! Linda! Linda!’ when listening to Bung talk.

At a press conference, Bung said that he was supposed to be in Sandakan earlier but was held up because of his court case in Kuala Lumpur last week.

When asked if this was a political conspiracy, he said: “I don’t want to accuse anyone but let the people judge.

I don’t wish to say more.” Bung said that there are almost 10,000 Umno Kinabatangan members who are voters in Sandakan, and he is sure he could organise the voters to vote on May 11.

“We cannot allow the ‘outsiders’ to decide our future for us.

“DAP (Democratic Action Part) does not have authority in Sabah and in Sandakan; it only has authority in Kuala Lumpur.

“Hence I think that the people of Sandakan will be at a loss if they vote for DAP. So my advice to the people of Sandakan is: it is high time to get our rights back, back to the Sabahans; back to PBS,” he stressed.
