Mitraf 21 to showcase host of products, services

MIRI: See Hua Marketing Sdn Bhd (SHM), in collaboration with Bintang Megamall, will be holding the 21st edition of Miri Trade Fair 21 (Mitraf 21) from tomorrow (May 9) till Sunday.

This year, the exhibition will house a total of 80 booths showcasing various products and services such as property, kitchen and sanitary wares, home improvements, security solutions, hardware, food and beverage, information technology, consumer goods, beauty and spa, telecommunications, education, tourism and vacation, handicrafts, toys, fashion accessories, optometry, car audio and accessories, intimate apparel, health and personal care, financial planning, floristry, as well as gifts and bouquets.

The Borneo Post, Utusan Borneo and See Hua Daily News readers stand a chance to get gifts in the ‘Subscribers and Readers’ Benefits’ programme, commencing at 11am daily throughout the trade fair, where 100 bags of Indocafe coffee products as well as GSC movie tickets (on buy-one, free-one basis) will be given away.

To be eligible for these gifts (on first-come, first-served basis), subscribers must produce their latest three-month subscription receipts (February-April 2019), or yearly receipts at the See Hua Customer Service counter.

Another exciting activity in Mitraf 21 is ‘Guess the Weight of the Fresh Fruit Bunch’, where visitors must accurately guess the weight of an oil palm fresh fruit bunch.

The first 50 with the closest accurate answer will each win a 2kg Merris cooking oil sponsored by SOP Foods Sdn Bhd.

Participants should also click ‘Like’ on Mitraf 21 Facebook page, as the full list of winners would be announced on this page at 9pm, on May11.

A pet show featuring exotic reptiles and other animals, conducted by students of Riam Road Secondary School, will be held throughout the trade fair – commencing at 10am daily.

A singing-dancing show by Senior Citizens Service Centre will kick-off Mitraf 21 at at 10.30am tomorrow.  Miri mayor Adam Yii is expected to officiate at the Mitraf 21’s grand opening ceremony at 7pm, followed by an autograph session by Justine Ngui at 8pm.

On Friday (May 10), there will be a charity singing competition, organised by Diabetes Malaysia Miri branch and Bintang Megamall, with the Part I segment scheduled  from 12.30pm to 4pm.

A ‘Creative Necklace-making Competition’ follows suit, and is expected to conclude at 6pm.

In view of the upcoming Gawai Dayak celebration, a ‘Kids Kumang Gawai’ (Gawai beauty queen) will also be staged that evening, from 6pm to 9.30pm.

More activities await visitors on Saturday, starting with a singing show at 10am, and followed by a ‘Tribute to Mothers’ singing showcase at 3.30pm, run in connection with Mother’s Day.

A Zumba session will run from 4.30 to 6.30pm.

Meanwhile, Part II of Diabetes Malaysia Miri-Bintang Megamall charity singing competition will be staged on Saturday, from 6pm till 9pm.

On Sunday (May 12), there will be a ‘Parent-Child Cooking Competition’, where roles will be reversed – the children will cook for their parents, while their parents will act as assistants.

The second Ying-Yong Cheng Clan Association’s singing competition is scheduled to commence at 3.30pm that day, and to end at 6.30pm.

There will also be a lucky draw, and the prize-giving ceremony will commence at 8.30pm.

Visitors who spend a minimum of RM300 in deposits or booking fees for properties, or RM100 within the same day at the participating booths – even with multiple receipts, can register themselves at See Hua Customer Service counter to take part in the Mitraf 21 lucky draw, where 36 prizes are up for grabs such as a cooking stove hood sponsored by United Fusion, an air-conditioning unit, a refrigerator, kitchenware, hampers, gift packs and other home appliances.

Mitraf 21 is endorsed by Miri City Council. It opens from 10am to 10pm daily. Admission is free.
