Motorcyclist dies at KM64 Serian-Sri Aman road

KUCHING: A 74-year-old motorcyclist who is believed to have lost control of his machine at KM64 of the Serian-Sri Aman road was pronounced dead by medical personnel at the scene.

State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the deceased has been identified as Samad Layang @Joseph Lamad from Kampung Bedup Longgo, Mile 45 Jalan Serian-Sri Aman.

The damaged motorcycle that landed at the side of the road.

“It is believed that he (deceased) was heading to Sri Aman from Serian town when he met with the accident,” said Alexson yesterday.

According to him, the weather was fine at the time of the accident.

He said the body was later brought to the Serian morgue for a post mortem and the case will be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
