Challenges await for high flying Kuching FA players

Kuching FA players who are leading the M3 League with 19 points.

KUCHING: Kuching FA players and officials are urged to keep their winning momentum going when the M3 League resumes after the Hari Raya Aidilfitri break.

Its team manager Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said there is still a long way to go in the league and the team needs to work harder to ensure that they stay at the top of the league and avoid being overtaken by other teams.

“We have not met the stronger teams and I am expecting it to be tough as we go along.

“As such, it is very important that the players stay focused and keep the winning momentum going on in every match,” he said.

According to the Tupong assemblyman, Kuching FA are taking stock of every match to assess their weaknesses and overcome them.

On the signing of new players to further boost the team, Fazzrudin said an announcement will be made soon on the matter.

He said the signing of two new players when the the transfer window opens on May 27 must be done very carefully and meeting the team’s needs.

“The decision on getting the new players will not only be for this season but also on the long term planning to face future challenges,” he added.

Four players strikers Sufizal Ismail and Ismail Bujang, defender Jimmy Raymond and midfielder Mohd Syahmi Irwanddy are currently undergoing selection trials with Kuching FA.

The team’s training sessions are now being carried out at night because of the Ramadan.

Kuching FA, coached by Idris Untong, are leading the M3 League with 19 points from six wins and one draw after having played seven matches.

They will next play against SAMB FC at Stadium Negeri, Petra Jaya on June 16.
