MIRI: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Hulu Rajang today lodged a police report urging the authorities to investigate Sarawak Report’s claim that several elected representatives (YBs) from Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) were abusing their rural grants to finance their self-serving propaganda through an online portal, Dayak Daily (DD).

When met after lodging the report at Miri Central Police Station, PKR Hulu Rajang chairman Abun Sui Anyit said he lodged the report after he read an article on Sarawak Report’s portal, claiming that several PRS leaders were allegedly channeling funds from their rural grants amounting to hundreds of thousands of ringgit to fund DD.

“We can see the YBs name in the article and the amount they channeled to the account.

“We want the authorities to investigate this because if it’s proven to be the money from their rural grants, then it (the money) belongs to the people,” he said.

He stressed that elected representatives must not misuse their grants because they were meant for the people.

Abun added that he will also lodge a separate report to the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC).
