KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) members of parliament are still waiting for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to give a format for the declaration of assets.

GPS parliamentary whip Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who is Petra Jaya member of parliament, said parliamentarians from the coalition have no problems with declaring their assets.

“We have no problem about the assets declaration as instructed by the Chief Minister (Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg), but we are still waiting for the format from MACC on how and what to declare,” he told reporters on Friday during a bubur chacha distribution programme at Taman Sukma, Petra Jaya.

The bubur chacha distribution was organised by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Taman Sukma and the Samariang Welfare Bureau. Some 500 packets were distributed to the public.

On May 14, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had said all opposition members of parliament also need to declare their assets together with other federal lawmakers.
