KOTA KINABALU: The Sumandak Sabah duo – Marsha Milan and Velvet Aduk – are back with their latest single entitled Oi Gaman, released officially on May 25.
Compared to Sumandak Sabah (one of the most played local songs of 2018), Oi Gaman highlights the essence of being patient in a relationship; an advice of sorts to all the single uncles out there to not rush when it comes to finding true love.
With a distinctive local traditional sound and catchy melody, this vibrant tune will most definitely move your feet off the ground!
According to Velvet who is the creator and singer of the song, “We actually did not plan to release any song as a duet for this Kaamatan season, as we have done that last year and I personally thought it would be redundant. But an idea for a song came just fairly three weeks before the release, and here we are again together!”
Marsha said she was excited when Velvet called her about featuring them together in this song.
“I was like, let’s do this! Thankfully we managed to work together despite the distance (I’m in KL and she’s in KK) and timeline allocated to create this song. It’s just like how we did for Sumandak Sabah,” she said.
Marsha and Velvet have been friends since the Akademi Fantasia years back in the third and fourth seasons in 2005-2006, and they remain close until today.
This is their second single together, the first being Sumandak Sabah which has reached 8.2 million YouTube views to date.
They hope Oi Gaman will be able to touch the hearts of those listening and become a singalong staple during this festive season.
