TH advises haj pilgrims to attend Perdana Haji courses

KUALA LUMPUR: The Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has advised 30,200 pilgrims for the 1440/2019 haj season to attend the ‘Perdana Haji’ courses that will be held in stages nationwide from tomorrow until June 30.

TH’s chief executive officer Datuk Seri Zukri Samat said the two days and one night course, organised by TH would serve as review session and to complement all the haj-related courses that had been conducted throughout the country.

He said by attending the ‘Perdana Haji’ courses, pilgrims would be provided with latest information by 56 haj facilitators prior to their departure for the Holy Land.

“We call on all pilgrims who are selected for this year’s haj season to attend the ‘Perdana Haji’ courses that will be held in their respective states. Take this opportunity to carry out review session and if they have any question, ask the ustaz directly during the course.

“This is important for the pilgrims to perform their haj pilgrimage to the best of their ability in their quest for ‘haji mabrur’ (divinely accepted haj),” he said in a statement yesterday.

As for the courses, from today (June 21) until June 22, the pilgrims can attend the ones held at the Taman Tamadun Islam, Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu; Institut Pendidikan Guru, Pengkalan Chepa (Kelantan); Bandar Dato’ Onn Mosque, Johor Bahru (Johor) and Dewan Wawasan, Kubang Pasu, Jitra (Kedah).

Meanwhile, from June 22 to 23, the courses will be held at the Sultan Ahmad Shah 1 Mosque (State Mosque), Kuantan, Pahang; Universiti Teknikal Melaka, Durian Tunggal (Melaka); Kompleks Universiti Sains Malaysia (USIM), Bandar Baru Nilai (Negeri Sembilan); the Sultan Azlan Shah Mosque, Ipoh (Perak); Dewan Millennium, Kepala Batas (Pulau Pinang) and the Federal Territory Mosque (Kuala Lumpur).

Also on the same date (June 22 to 23), pilgrims can attend the courses held at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque (State Mosque), Shah Alam, (Selangor); Sayidina Abu Bakar Mosque, Kuala Perlis, (Perlis) and Maktab Rendah Sains Mara Tun Fuad Stephens, Sandakan, (Sabah).

For those in Sarawak, the course will be held at the Darul Hana Mosque, Petra Jaya, Kuching, from June 29 to June 30.

The first flight carrying Malaysian haj pilgrims to the Holy Land for this year’s pilgrimage is scheduled to depart on July 4. — Bernama
