BINTULU: Shell Timur and KTS Trading Sdn Bhd yesterday celebrated Gawai Dayak and Hari Raya Adilfitri with the orphans from Bintulu Peryatim Complex in Kampung Jepak here.
Shell Lubricant distributor Kevin Lau in his speech said the event was part of their annual corporate social responsibility activities.
“We would like to thank the management team of Bintulu Peryatim and the children for a warm welcome.
“We are very fortunate to be able to share festive joy with the children as we celebrate our diversity,” said Lau, adding that the staff had the opportunity to interact with the children by joining in the activities.
He advised the children to focus on their studies as education could help them have a brighter future.
“When you have become a successful person, don’t forget to contribute back to the community,” Lau added.
Also present were Shell Timur account manager Philip Phua, KTS Trading Bintulu branch manager Tiong Hoo Chiong and KTS staff.
The children were also presented with stationery items beside cash donation for Bintulu Peryatim management.
