Three dead believed killed by fish-bombs

SEMPORNA: A local dive master and two Chinese nationals were believed killed by fish-bombing activity while diving at Kulapuan Island waters yesterday.

The incident was said to have happened at around 5.50pm.

Kulapuan Island which has no army or police base is said to be a ‘port’ for fish-bombing activities due to the absence of these law enforcers.

Semporna police chief Supt Sabarudin Rahmat when contacted said  he had yet to receive further information on the case and could not confirm the incident.

Sabarudin said further information would be provided to the press when the information is obtained.

Meanwhile, Semporna Tourist Association chairperson Jamilah Ang Kher Lern when contacted  said there was an incident involving  tourists.

However, she said it could not be confirmed whether the victims were killed due to fish bombing activity or other reasons.

The incident has caused shock to netizens as news of the incident, which is a blow to tourism in Sabah, is being viralled on social media.
