MIRI: The newly-elected committee members of Lions Club Batu Niah for the 2019-2020 term plan to expand its rural medical project to reach out to more rural communities in Sarawak.

In a press release issued yesterday, its president Alan Yong Siaw Chyang, who was re-elected for a second term, said they wanted to bring more changes to the lives of the rural community through various activities. “Under this rural medical project, we will be collaborating with the relevant authority to bring medical services, health screening and basic treatment to the rural folk so they don’t have to travel far to the city.

“The project is part of our year-long project, and we are grateful for the physical and monetary support from the public,” he said.

New executive committee comprises vice-president I Andy Jong Wan Joon, vice-president II Alice Yong and vice-president III Cheu Kuok Hoo.

Caren Huong Sia Wei is the secretary, and Liew Li Mui is treasurer.
