Grandmaster of the local hash club, Tan Peng Chuan welcomed and thanked the hashers for their support.

Irene Chiew who led four ladies on their maiden trip here commented “We are members of one of the many hash clubs in Tawau. We have heard of Kapit and decided to come. It has completely different landscape. In Tawau, we are surrounded by sea and mostly oil palm plantations except the National Forest Reserve. Here, it is mountains and rivers. We can see the jungle.”

Meanwhile, Oi Chai Kon from Miri Oil Town Hash House Harriers has been making her way to Kapit for nineteen years. About 20 hashers from the club travelled in seven vehicles here.

“I really enjoy the warmth, hospitality and friendly people in Kapit. I love nature and adventure. Previously, we came by boat and this time by road. The off road drive between Ngemah to Temalat (Jalan Kelapa Sawit) was exiting when the vehicles swing from side to side while negotiating the steep slope and sharp corners,” shared Oi.
