KUCHING: A total of 105 individuals were arrested during the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK)’s operation all across Sarawak, which ran from July 19 to 27.
AADK Sarawak director Wan Madihi Wan Salleh said of the 105, 97 tested positive for methamphetamine or syabu, and eight tested positive for ‘ganja’ (cannabis).
“All suspects are aged between 21 and 49 years old,” he said in a statement yesterday.
The operation here covered areas that included the old Sarawak State Legislative Assembly complex and Taman Wisma Bapa Malaysia in Petra Jaya, Bandar Baru Samariang, and also Jalan Haji Taha in the city centre.
“All suspects will be investigated under Section 3 of the Drug Dependents (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983,” said Wan Madihi.
