Cerisologo is new Kapit DO

KAPIT: Cerisologo Sabut is now the district officer here, effective Aug 1.

Cerisologo, from Rumah Achan Renang in Sungai Aman, here, received the instrument of office from the outgoing Elvis Didit at the Bletih State Complex.

Deputy Resident Galong Luang and SAOs Belayong Pok, Bidah Lujah, Wan Shukri and Robert Anyaw were among those who came to witness the event.

Elvis, meanwhile, is on transfer to Sri Aman Resident Office. He holds the record as the longest serving Kapit District Officer (eight years) since 1884.

He began his civil service career on Aug 8, 1994 at Land and Survey Kapit. On Nov 11, 1996, he was transferred to Agriculture Department Kuching, and on July 7, 2000, he was promoted to Sarawak Administrative Officer (SAO) at the Sibu Resident Office.

He was at Sibu Rural District Council from April 4, 2003, and on Aug 8, 2006, he was transferred to Natural Environment and Public Health in Kuching. He was then sent to Limbang Resident Office on July 16, 2008 before he was transferred to Matu District Office on July 7, 2011.

Elvis was Kapit DO from Nov 17, 2011 to July 31, 2019.
