MIRI: Pustaka Miri will hold various activities in connection with the World Breastfeeding Week, this Aug 13.
There will be talks by specialists, consultation sessions, mobile clinic by the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), mammogram and pap-smear tests, as well as reading seeds and exhibitions.
Family physician and specialist Dr Samuel Wong from the divisional Health Department will share with the participants his delivery on ‘Empower Parents and Community, Enable Breastfeeding’ in the first seminar, followed by Miri Hospital obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Nik Azi Azuha Nik Hassan, who will enlighten audience on ‘Breastfeeding and Long-Term Maternal Health Benefits’.
The final session by Miri Hospital paediatrician, Dr Nithia Kamala Athimoolam will touch on ‘Liquid Gold: Improving Health Outcomes of Babies’.
There will be special promotions on electric breast pumps and also giveaway of free vouchers during the event.
