SIBU: Sarawak Science Research advisor Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu has expressed his disappointment with Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Sarawak Iban section.

Jabu who is a former Deputy Chief Minister, claimed that ever since Pakatan Harapan (PH) took over the federal government, the national broadcaster had ceased airing songs such as ‘Timang Pemansang’ and ‘Wawasan Bekikis Bulu Betis’ to encourage the Ibans and others to work hard, be united and prioritise their children’s education.

“We do not know the reason behind this but it could be the order from their headquarters in Kuala Lumpur not to encourage parents to send their children to school.

“Or it could be those in RTM Sarawak Iban section disfavouring their own race because they do not know or failed to make detailed finding on the importance of encouragement for our new generations,” he said when officiating the “Iban Language and Culture” seminar dinner held here last night.
