Ahmad Lai is laid to rest at Sungai Balubuh Islamic cemetery.
MIRI: Former Sibuti MP Datuk Ahmad Lai was laid to rest at the Sungai Balubuh Islamic cemetery in Jalan Bakam here this evening.
The deceased passed away at Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) Kuala Lumpur at 5.30am today.
His body arrived at Miri Airport at 4.35pm and a prayer was later held at Darul Istiqamah Mosque in Kampung Luak at 5.15pm.
The burial ceremony then took place at 5.50pm.
Over 300 people attended the ceremony to pay their last respects to who many regarded as someone who was a truly friendly and people-centric individual and a great loss to many, especially those in the Sibuti parliamentary constituency.
