Smart camp prepares 147 Sebuyau pupils for UPSR

KUCHING: 147 pupils from nine primary schools in Sebuyau attended 2019 Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) smart camp at Tun Abdul Razak Teachers Institute (IPTAR) Kota Samarahan recently.

The programme held in collaboration with Sebuyau zone Council of Headmasters and IPTAR to prepare Year 6 pupils for the coming examination was also attended by 27 teachers.

Assistant Minister of Coastal Road Datuk Julaihi Narawi lauded the initiative to help pupils at the closing ceremony.

“The relationship between the Council of Headmasters for Sebuyau zone and IPTAR has achieved positive result with this programme which is beneficial for the school children because it is our hope to improve the education of our children in rural areas, including in Sebuyau,” the Sebuyau assemblyman pointed out.

He added that such programmes would increase the competency of the participants in taking the examination.

At the function, Julaihi also gave minor rural project (MRP) grant of RM37,000 to Council of Headmasters for Sebuyau zone to carry out educational activities.
