KUCHING: Two adults and three children suffered minor injuries after the car they were travelling in skidded and landed in a gorge yesterday.

According to state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the compact vehicle that they were in went out of control before it fell into a gorge at the side of the road at Mile 29, Jalan Kuching-Serian.

All five victims managed to get out of the vehicle with the help of passersby.

“Upon receiving the report at 10.03am, Bomba personnel rushed to the scene and proceeded to turn off the engine of the vehicle and cut off the electricity supply from the battery to prevent sparks.

“Bomba EMRS unit provided first-aid treatment to the victims before they were sent to Serian Hospital for further treatment,” said a statement released by Bomba yesterday.
