Man rams car into wife for catching him with woman


MIRI: A man who was caught with a woman in his car by his wife tried to get out of the situation by knocking down his wife with his car while trying to flee.

District police chief, ACP Lim Meng Seah in a statement here yesterday said police have identified the 50-year-old suspect and are looking for him.

According to Lim, around 8.30pm on Thursday, the victim, a 53-year-old housewife had just returned from a mosque when she spotted her husband’s car parked by the roadside in Kampung Wireless.

“She walked towards the vehicle as she wanted to ask the husband for some money to buy medicine.

“However, she saw another woman inside the vehicle and tried to stop her husband’s car (from leaving),” said Lim.

The suspect rammed into her which caused her to be thrown to the roadside.

“The victim sustained injuries and was rushed to Miri Hospital where she received treatment,” added Lim.

The victim has been married to the suspect for nearly 30 years and they have eight children .

Police are investigating the case under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
