MP commends participants of annual Subaru Challenge

SIBU: Participants of ‘Subaru Challenge Cup No. 4’ were highly commended for their annual fund raising charity event.

Member of Parliament for Bintulu Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing noted that their caring culture and effort has brought joy to the needy in the state.

“Whenever there is natural disaster and fire case, they are there,”

“Thus, on behalf of the state government I would like to express a big thank you to all the participants for the community services you have been carrying out for the rural folk and the poor in Sarawak,” he said at the flag-off of ‘Subaru Challenge Cup No. 4’ at Pulau Li Hua yesterday.

The Hock Peng Organisation (Hock Peng) deputy chairman Pemanca Datuk Dr Francis Toh; president of Sibu 4X4 Owners Club Kiing Sie Puo and President of Bintulu 4X4 Owners Club Tie Sing Ung were also present.

The convoy of 65 vehicles from Kuching, Saratok, Bintulu, Sri Aman, Sarikei and Sibu went to Nanga Tada, Kanowit for their jungle track adventure ride from Sept 7 to 9 in the event organised by the Sibu 4X4 Owners Club.

Tiong also urged the 4X4 vehicle owners and workshops to prioritise safety when modifying vehicles to avoid untoward incidents.

Meanwhile, Tiong contributed a personal donation of RM10,000 each to Sibu 4X4 Owners Club, Bintulu 4X4 Owners Club and Kuching 4X4 Owners Club.

Before the flag-off, president of Sibu 4X4 Owners Club Kiing Sie Puo handed over a donation to founder of Hope Place Kelvin Wan witnessed by Tiong.
