KUCHING: Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng has been told to stop blaming others and simply pay up Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) manifesto-promised 20 per cent oil royalty to Sarawak.

Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chief whip Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof pointed out in a statement that PH had also promised to return 50 per cent of taxes from Sarawak in its manifesto.

“Stop blaming others, but just give the 20 per cent oil royalty, and also don’t forget to return the 50 per cent tax from the state, which were promised by you (Lim Guan Eng) and (Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs) Chong Chieng Jen,” he said.

Fadillah was commenting on Lim’s statement that legacy issues from the previous government were preventing the implementation of the promises made by PH.

“It has been a year and four months since forming the government, and where are you and Chong?” Fadillah questioned.

The Petra Jaya member of parliament also pointed out that Council of Eminent Persons chairman Tun Daim Zainuddin had on several occasions told the PH government to deliver promises made during the election campaign.

Fadillah added Lim should follow Tun Daim’s advice or step down.
