BINTANGOR: SK Bandar Bintangor will get a new school block when the construction of the building is completed in five months’ time, said Works Minister Baru Bian.

According to him, the project was built under Package 5 of dilapidated school projects 2019.

He said that dilapidated school projects in the state for this year were divided into 12 Packages.

“Other than SK Bandar Bintangor, there are two other schools namely SK Ulu Entaih and SK Ulu Entabai (which are) under Package 5.

“Projects under Package 5 are implemented by contractor Tetuan Cekap Sdn Bhd with contract sum of RM7.1 million. The project duration is five months,” he said when officiating the groundbreaking of SK Bandar Bintangor’s new building here today.

The project which started Sept 4, was to replace old block of the school.

The school has 220 pupils and 26 teachers.

He said the 43 schools included 32 in Sarawak, eight in Peninsular Malaysia and three in Sabah.

“Up to now, construction is ongoing at eight schools in Peninsular Malaysia while the projects for three schools in Sabah are in tender acquisition stage.
