Veterans to mark Warriors Day with blood donation drive

SIBU: A mass blood donation drive will be held in conjunction with Warriors Day at Star Megamall this Sept 18, running from 9am to 2pm.

According to Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Association (PVATM) Sarawak president Francis Yeo, the event is a collaboration between PVATM Sarawak, the Royal Malaysian Navy Veterans Association Sarawak, and the Sarawak branch of the Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Affairs Department (JHEV-ATM) – aimed at assisting Sibu Hospital blood bank stock up its supply.

“Besides, such an event would further strengthen the unity among the people of various races participating in the programme,” said Yeo during a press conference held at PVATM Sarawak office yesterday. He added that Ninth Infantry Brigade Commander Brig-Gen Abdul Rahman Abdul Wahab would officiate at the opening ceremony.

Meanwhile, JHEV-ATM administrative officer Iswandy Sa’di said a mobile counter would be available for veterans who are facing problems with their welfare applications and also those with enquiries about certain matters.
