Haze: API reading back above 200 in Kuching

The API readings have risen above 200 once again as of 2pm today in Kuching.

KUCHING: The air quality for Kuching has risen back up to very unhealthy levels, with an Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 204 as of 3pm.

According to the Department of Environment’s MyIPU app, the API dropped from very unhealthy to unhealthy at around 1am earlier today before rising up again from 11am to 182 before breaching 200 at 2pm.

Meanwhile, Sri Aman’s air quality continues to be very unhealthy with a reading of 234.

Other areas that recorded unhealthy readings were Sibu (179), Sarikei (176), Samarahan (188), Mukah (149), Bintulu (134), Miri (130), ILP Miri (122) and Samalaju (110).

Moderate API readings were recorded in SK Kuala Baram (91), Kapit (79) and Limbang (87).

An API reading of zero to 50 is good, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy and 301 and above is hazardous.
