KUCHING: St Thomas’ School Form 5 Arts Stream class of 1969 students will hold a reunion dinner on Sunday (Sept 22) to mark the 50th anniversary of their ‘graduation’.

A press release yesterday called on all fellow classmates to attend the reunion dinner.

“Let us come and reunite together as we haven’t seen each other for the last 50 years, since 1969, and to relive our good old times at St Thomas’ School,” said the press release.

According to the press release, the idea of a reunion first came about in May upon the initiative of Peter Wong.

“While ‘the iron is still hot’, just within a few days, more than 10 former classmates were contacted and included in a WhatsApp chat group,” said the press release.

This was followed by a small-scale breakfast reunion to coincide with the return of David Pang from New Zealand on holiday.

“Some old photos were shared and all were so keen to try to identify all the classmates; and we managed to recognise all but sad to learn that there were about six classmates who are no longer around with us,” said the press release.

The get-togethers continued when Zamhari Hashim invited the classmates for a buka puasa meal.

Since then, the existing group has kept in contact through WhatsApp, but hope the rest of the classmates would get in touch too.

For details, contact Wong (012-8869696), Stephen Ngui (019-8891085), or Zamhari (019-4877057).
