Musa absent from Umno Sabah convention

KOTA KINABALU: Former Umno Sabah liaison Chief Tan Sri Musa Aman did not attend the state delegates’ convention here on Saturday.

Party President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who officiated the convention said the Sungai Sibuga assemblyman was seeking medical treatment.

Zahid said this when asked by reporters on Musa’s the absence.

“I was informed that he is undergoing medical treatment. I would like to record our appreciation to his commitment towards the party,” he said.

Musa and Umno Sabah liaison chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin who is Kinabatangan Member of Parliament are the two remaining elected representatives in Sabah for the party.

Meanwhile to a question whether Umno and PAS will be contesting the Tanjung Piai seat following the death of its incumbent, the former deputy prime minister said they will need to discuss this with the component parties in Barisan Nasional first.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Md Farid Md Rafik died yesterday morning from a heart attack.  He was vice-chief of the Tanjung Piai Parti Pribumi Malaysia (PPBM) division.
