KUCHING: Dr Angel Chai (Thai Soon Hang Sdn Bhd) took the crown in the Ms Hardware Beauty Pageant finals, beating 10 other finalists on Saturday night.
She took home RM3,000 cash and RM3,000 worth of prizes, tiara, trophy, flowers and sash. She also took home RM500 cash and RM200 worth of prizes for winning the subsidiary title Miss Eloquence (TEA FM).
Second place went to Celine Phiong (Yong Seng Lung Trading), who bagged RM2,000 cash and RM1,000 worth of prizes, tiara, trophy, flowers and sash while third place went to Yvonne Wong (Seri Waja Enterprise), taking home RM1,500 cash, RM500 worth of prizes, tiara, trophy, flowers and sash.

The pageant was organised by Kuching and Kota Samarahan Division Hardware and Machinery Merchants’ Association, which ran from May 15 to Sept 21.
Earlier, association chairman Law Nai Chiok said the prosperity of the hardware industry depends entirely on the development of the construction industry, infrastructure, and relevant investments.
Thus, he hopes the federal government will increase the investment in infrastructure construction in Sarawak and the hydropower development plan in rural areas, while vigorously attracting foreign investment particularly through China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
“This will drive the business environment and revitalise the economic development of Sarawak, so that everyone can do business,” he said.
At the event, the association presented education excellence awards to its members’ children who did well in primary school, secondary school and tertiary institutions.
The event was attended by over 1,000 people.
