KUCHING: Four male suspects have been arrested by the police hours after the body of a lifeless man was found in the middle of the road between Kampung Resak and Kampung Diang, Jalan Mentung Merau in Serian at 4am yesterday.
Serian District police chief DSP Aswandy Anis in a statement said all of the suspects aged between 16 and 19 years will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
“It is believed that the motive of the murder was revenge,” said Aswandy yesterday.
He also revealed that the suspects might be drunk when they allegedly murdered the victim.
According to Aswandy, the victim is a 27-year-old who had earlier attended the same party with the suspects at a nearby village.
“Police also found shards of glass from a bottle and the chain of a chainsaw machine at the scene,” he added.
A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death of the deceased.
All suspects are currently under remand to facilitate investigations.
