MIRI: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) northern Sarawak will work hand-in-hand with other component parties of Pakatan Harapan (PH) here in the appointment of committee members of Village
Community Management Council (MPKK).

Its Miri chairman Yeo Kian Leong said the party branch had started necessary works to look for suitable candidates for the MPKK committee.

“We will work closely with PH component parties here in order to ensure suitable candidates are appointed to serve as MPKK chairman and secretary.

“Such effort is vital because we want the MPKK committee to be able to provide the best services and development for the community and the
villages.”

Yeo stressed that the MPKK committee must be made of those who can foster unity and build a progressive community as well as always supporting government policy for greater development of villages, especially those in rural areas.

On the establishment of MPKK in Sarawak, he said it proved that the PH federal government is very concerned about local development and problems faced by the community in
Sarawak.

“The establishment of MPKK is to plan and implement development for the villages with the involvement of the local community to create a sustainable, competitive and prosperous village.”
