Sarawakian Fenny Nuli to serve in Peru as Malaysia’s Ambassador-Designate

KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawakian Fenny Nuli will serve in Peru as Malaysia’s Ambassador-Designate there after she received her letter of credence from Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah yesterday.

Fenny, who started working as a PTD in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1997, was appointed the deputy Head of Mission at the Malaysian Embassy in Brussels, Belgium since 2016 and the International Co-operation and Development Undersecretary from 2015 until 2016.

The 48-year-old, who hails from Sri Aman, had also served as Multilateral Economic and Environment Principal Assistant Secretary from 2013 to 2015.

The Agong also presented Akmal Che Mustafa with his letter of credence, with the latter serving in Spain.

Before being appointed as the Malaysian Ambassador to Spain, Akmal, who started his service as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer (PTD) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1996, had worked as an Undersecretary in the Protectorate Division since last year.

He had also served as a deputy Head of Mission at the Malaysian Embassy in Manila, Philippines from 2014 until early 2018 and Principal Assistant Secretary (South East Asia) from 2013 to 2014.

Meanwhile, the Agong also consented to accepting the letters of credential of 12 foreign envoys to Malaysia.

Seven were residents in Kuala Lumpur while five more were stationed in several other countries.

Those stationed here were the Irish Ambassador to Malaysia Hilary Reilly, Aart Jacobi (Netherland), Amna Baloch (Pakistan), Dr Hamad Mohammad Hassan Burhamah (Kuwait), Andrea Reichlin (Switzerland), Kapila Veedhiya Bandara Jayampathy (Sri Lanka) and Dr Moheb Rahman Spingar (Afghanistan).

Meanwhile, five others were the Ambassador of Burundi Stella Budiriganya, Andre Poh (Ambassador of Congo) and Sekou Kasse (Ambassador of Mali) all of whom were stationed in New Delhi, India and Jaroslav Chlebo (Ambassador of Slovak Republic stationed in Jakarta, Indonesia) and Jean-Paul Senninger (Ambassador of Luxembourg stationed in Bangkok, Thailand).

After the ceremony, Al-Sultan Abdullah with the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah mingled with the Malaysian and foreign envoys.
