MCC receives 20 requests at meet-the-people session

MCC staff attend to the public during the meet-the-people session at Tamu Kedayan.

MIRI: Miri City Council (MCC) received 20 complaints and requests for council services during its meet-the-people session at Tamu Kedayan in the city centre here yesterday.

Majority of the requests were directed to Public Health Department with nine cases which involved market maintenance issue.

Public Cleaning Department recorded five cases – refuse collection bins at Taman Ceria in Permyjaya, stray dogs at Jalan Pujut 2D, request for public toilet maintenance at the market itself, and request for new bin at Taman Ceria in Permyjaya and Jalan Pujut 2D.

The Engineering Department received two requests to maintain drains in Permyjaya and one request for road maintenance in Kampung Haji Wahid here.

The Enforcement Department received two complaints about illegal hawkers at Tamu Kedayan while the Landscape Department received one request for tree cutting in Permyjaya.

A spokesperson said the meet-the-people session was a success, and they were looking forward to hold similar session at different locations in the city in future.

The meet-the-people session is held on the first Friday of the month (10am to llam).
