PUTRAJAYA: It is unnecessary for pupils to re-sit the Form Three Assessment (PT3) examination, said Ministry of Education.

This is because the management of the PT3 examination is similar to that of year-end examination, and that the examination papers are standardised, it said in a statement here today.

PT3 is a centralised assessment (PP) in the school-based assessment (PBS) and administered by the schools based on instruments and standardised scoring prepared by the Examinations Board, it said.

The ministry said PT3 was an academic component of PBS at the lower secondary education which was implemented based on a shared accountability between the schools and the Examinations Board.

“In this matter, the MOE gives its assurance that it remains committed towards ensuring fairness for the candidates, and that the veracity of the PT3 results will be assessed in accordance to standardised methods and procedures used by the world examination bodies,” it said.

The ministry said the PT3 examination would continue as scheduled.

“Science, Pendidikan Islam and Al-Syariah on Oct 7; History, Maharatal-Quran Paper 1 and Usul al-Din on Oct 8 while Bahasa Melayu Paper 1 and 2 on Oct 9,” it said.

The ministry also urged the public to not create issues which could worry parents and put pressure on examination candidates. – Bernama
