MoH welcomes additional allocation of RM1.9 billion

SIBU: The Health Ministry (MoH) has welcomed the additional allocation of RM1.9 billion outlined under Budget 2020, which was tabled in Parliament yesterday.

For next year, the ministry is set to receive RM30.6 billion, over RM28.7 billion allocated under Budget 2019, observed Deputy Health Minister Dr Lee Boon Chye.

“RM1.6 billion (is slated) for new hospitals and upgrading of hospitals, RM319 million for health clinics, RM227 million for medical equipment, RM95 million for renovation on medical infrastructure and facilities, and RM5 million for mobile clinics especially for the Orang Asli.

“We also welcome the lowering of (age threshold for) Peka B40 programme, from 50 years and above to 40 years and above,” he said in a WhatsApp message.
