LIMBANG: Hawkers at the Tamu here want Limbang District Council to repair the leaking roof, which is damaging their goods and causing inconvenience to them and their customers each time it rains.

The hawkers are anxious because the RM1.3 million rehabilitation and upgrading project being done on the Tamu is almost completed.

The project involves repairing the roof and repainting of the premises, while food and drinks stalls are being relocated to the ground floor.

One hawker said the leak was detected on Sunday as it was raining then.

“Water was dripping onto my stall and I had to place a pail to collect the water to avoid it (water) damaging my goods on the table,” he said.

The authorities have already been informed of the problem but the hawkers want it done soonest.
