Jabu reappointed Unimas pro-chancellor

KUCHING: Former deputy chief minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang has been re-appointed pro-chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas).

Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, who is also Unimas chancellor, signed the appointment letter and presented it to Jabu at the Astana yesterday morning.

A delegation from Unimas comprising the chairman of board of directors Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie, vice chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi and deputy vice chancellors Prof Datu Mohd Fadzil Abd Rahman and Prof Dr Ahmad Hata Rasit were among those present at the ceremony.

Jabu) was first appointed as pro-chancellor in 2013 and re-appointed in 2015 for a second term and for a third term in 2017. This will be his fourth term, which is a very high honour given by the government.
