Trader dies after being stabbed by foreign national at Pekan Tedungan in Limbang

LIMBANG: A 62-year-old trader died after he was believed to have been stabbed by an Indonesian man after the victim refused to give the suspect money as transportation fare to Limbang town.

According to Limbang District police chief Supt Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, the incident which happened at Pekan Tedungan, here, this morning, claimed the life of Ting Kok Khoi.

He said the victim’s body was found lying on the floor covered with blood next to his car and police also found stab wounds on his body.

“The suspect had approached the victim around 7am and demanded the victim to give him money as transportation fare for him to Limbang town.

“The victim refused and had exchanged of words with the suspect which led to a heated argument between them.”

Following that, Abang Zainal said the suspect got angry and stabbed the victim.

He said the police have arrested the suspect and seized a vegetable knife that was believed to have been used by him to stab the victim.

Abang Zainal Abidin said the suspect had just entered Limbang from a neighbouring country yesterday.

“He was looking for a job in Limbang and wanted to earn some money before going back to meet his family in Indonesia.”

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
