KUCHING: Telekom Malaysia (TM), through TM Sarawak Club, is organising the ‘Digital Community Run 2.0’ – set for flag-off at Mydin Mall Petra Jaya here this Nov 30, at 7.30pm.
According to TM Sarawak general manager Jafer Sadig Abdul Lathiff, the event is aimed at creating an engagement platform with the community at large through fun and healthy activities.
He says in addition to the run, there will also be other activities such as a ‘Digital Challenge’, ‘TelCo Street Soccer Challenge’, ‘We Got Talent’ competition and an open ‘Kahoot’, to be conducted from 9am to 4pm that day.
“The ‘Digital Challenge’ will be the highlight of the day. It is a race between teams, out to complete the defined tasks utilising digital platforms,” he spoke during a press conference here yesterday.
Adding on, Jafer said Sarawak was committed to continuously playing an active role in engaging with the local communities through sport events or recreational activities.
“Running is a very good platform to promote a healthy lifestyle.”
He also expressed his hope for the support for and participation from the local communities in the event would provide awareness of the digital services that TM could offer – befitting its role as the national telecommunications infrastructure provider of Malaysia’s ‘Digital Nation’ aspirations.
“With this, TM is well-positioned to help increase the digital adoption and empower their daily lifestyles, making life easier,” he said.
On Digital Community Run 2.0, Jafer said it would hold two categories – the 5km Fun Run, and the 10km Competitive Run.
“Those who are staying outside of Kuching, Sarawak can also participate in the ‘Virtual Run’,” he said, adding that the participants of both categories would each be entitled to receive the official running T-shirt, a finisher’s medal, and some goodies.
“For the 10km run, participants stand a chance to win 10 cash prizes and other attractive prizes.”

In connection with the run, Jafer said the public must not miss out the chance to grab the latest ‘Pay Nothing’ promotion from Unifi, where new and existing Unifi customers (except the Unifi Basic 60GB, Unifi Lite and Unifi Air subscribers) would not need to pay anything for their subscriptions until the end of the year – subject to terms and conditions.
He said to add more excitements, those subscribing to this promo via www.unifi.com.my, would not only get their Unifi installed and ready for use within 24 hours (subject to slot availability), they would also stand a chance to enjoy the subscribed plan free for one year.
“So, don’t forget to head on over to Mydin Mall Petra Jaya this Nov 30, from 9am
onwards, to join the ‘Digital Community Run 2.0’ and take part in all the fun activities,” he added.
