MIRI: A community outreach programme organised by Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Miri in collaboration with Rotary Club Miri recently benefited some 250 Kuala Baram folk.

An organising spokesperson said activities conducted included a digital inclusivity workshop dubbed PANDei (People Accessible Network for Digital Empowerment and Inclusivity), fun learning, and free eye tests.

“Besides the people in Kuala Baram, those from surrounding areas such as school teachers and staff, parents, and students also attended the programme.

“The main objective of the programme was to provide free medical service to the people in Kuala Baram,” said the spokesperson.

She said the workshop was in line with Sarawak’s digital economy initiative to educate, create better awareness, and expose the people to digital literacy skills.

For the eye tests, Rotary Club Miri also gave away free spectacles to those in need.

“The programme was conducted successfully and we are looking forward to have similar collaboration for our next community outreach programme,” added the spokesperson.
