KOTA KINABALU: The rain cleared away just in time for over 700 cyclists to join Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin in the Berbasikal Bersama TYT evemt in conjunction with his official 66th Birthday Celebration here yesterday morning.
People started to arrive at the wee hours of the morning before the ride took off at around 7.30 am from the Kota Kinabalu City Hall compound and ended at the Likas Bay Park.
Juhar’s consort, Toh Puan Norlidah RM Jasni, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal and his spouse, Datuk Shuryani Shuaib as well as the Sabah Cabinet members also participated in the fun ride.
Members from the state government departments and agencies, and NGOs and associations made up the bulk of the crowd at the event.
Amongst the activity organized during the event at Likas Bay Park were the cutting of birthday cake by Juhar and lucky draws for all participants.
