KOTA KINABALU: State Youth and Sports Minister Phoong Jin Zhe officiated at the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah’s (FCAS) 2020 Budget Seminar here yesterday.
At the event, Phoong and the FCAS members exchanged views on the recently tabled national budget.
Among those present were FCAS president Tan Sri Dr TC Goh and FCAS vice president cum Economic Bureau chairman Datuk Chua Soon Ping.
In his speech, Phoong reminded Sabahans that the time for blame game is over as the main focus should now be on how the state can develop its economy.
He pointed out that the 2020 Budget is only the Pakatan Harapan Government’s second budget and therefore he admitted that there is still room for improvement.
“We still have another three years…there might be weaknesses in the budget but we would improve,” he said.
