KUCHING: Assistant Minister under Chief Minister’s Department (Corporate Affairs and Sarawak Public Communications Unit) Abdullah Saidol has questioned the functions of federal departments in Sarawak, should the Federal Village Community Management Council (MPKKP) be set up to distribute federal funds to the people here.

Moreover, he regards the establishment of the MPKKP as an effort by Pakatan Harapan (PH) to win in the next Sarawak state election.

“In its attempt to win the election, PH is so reckless and greedy.

“Many of their actions are not in line with the spirit of federalism as contained in the Malaysia Agreement 1963; they do not seem to respect the Federal Constitution,” he said when met at the lobby of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex here yesterday.

Abdullah warned that should PH continue to disrespect state laws, they should be concerned about the possible emergence of anti-federal sentiment that might develop.

“This is not our fault, but their (PH’s) own fault for not respecting Sarawak laws,” he pointed out.
