KUCHING: The One Stop Centre at the Kuching District police headquarters in Jalan Simpang Tiga here will soon accommodate only traffic accident reports.
Currently, it is where the public can lodge police reports, provide statements and deal with other related matters – all under one roof.
After the imminent change, any police report on areas not related to traffic accidents should be lodged at the police station nearest to the complainant, said Kuching District police chief ACP Awang Din Awang Gani when contacted yesterday.
He also said the One Stop Centre would be renamed the Kuching District Police Headquarters’ Traffic and Criminal Investigation Office’.
The office, according to him, would house officers from both the district’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and its Traffic Department.
“The office will also be a platform for us to better coordinate the delivery system of the various IOs (investigating officers) under the Kuching District jurisdiction,” said Awang Din, adding that the renovation works on the office would be carried out soon.
