KUCHING: Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) hotels took part in the World Travel Market (WTM) 2019 in London on Nov 5-7.
SEDC general manager Abdul Hadi Abdul Kadir said the hotels were Grand Margherita Hotel, Riverside Majestic Hotel, Damai Beach Resort, and Astana Wing of Riverside Majestic.
“The WTM London 2019 is the leading global event for the international travel industry and it could provide a good avenue for the management of our chain of hotels to meet industry professionals and conduct business deals,” he said in a statement yesterday.
“We had seen the event as a strategic platform to promote our chain of hotels as part of Sarawak’s tourism facilities and to leverage on the Visit Sarawak campaign, which was highlighted during the event.”
The hotels also participated in the WTM London 2019 exhibition, which highlighted the range of accommodation facilities and hospitality products.
Through participation in WTM London 2019, hotel representatives jointly promoted Sarawak as a naturally preferred destination, and supported campaigns and promotional activities held to boost international arrivals.
Being the largest annual gathering for the global travel industry, WTM London 2019 brought together over 51,000 international travel-trade professionals under one roof for unrivalled networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
