KUCHING: A total of 119 graduates received their scrolls at FAME International College’s 17th graduation ceremony at Imperial Hotel here yesterday.

They graduated in Bachelor of Arts (Hons) International Business Management (19), Bachelor of Science (Hons) Business Management, Accounting and Finance (19), Diploma in Business Administration (12), Diploma in Accounting and Finance (34), Diploma in Entrepreneurship (10) while 16 received Certificate in Business Studies, four received Certified Accounting Technician Certificate and five graduated from Foundation in Management.

At the graduation ceremony, FAME International College chief executive officer David Chew urged graduates to apply the values acquired in their life, as the college believes that gaining the right skill sets and having the right attitude are pertinent in their career.

“When you join FAME, you were not sure of the journey ahead but with hard work and persistence and the guidance and supervision of your tutors and other mentors, you have now completed the journey,” said Chew to the graduates at the ceremony.

He shared that FAME’s vision is to be a world-class education provider that transforms individuals by nurturing, cultivating and instilling wisdom and high-awareness.

“Your journey with FAME was not just to gain new knowledge, but to learn closely from your mentors, through positivity, awareness, attitude shaping and experience accumulation.

“We believe that these values will nurture you in your future undertakings,” added Chew.

FAME International College chairman Dato Sri Khairil Awang, meanwhile, said that graduates must ensure they are marketable in the workforce by being open-minded to face the challenges in the world.

“Just a word of caution – With the volatility, uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity and changes in the world and the coming of the fourth industrial revolution, what FAME International College has given you is just a small part of the skill sets you need to develop your own,” said Khairil.

Winnie Chan Siow Hui and Chen Xin Yee were named the best students in the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) International Business Management and Bachelor of Science (Hons) Business Management, Accounting and Finance respectively.

Jee Jie Joo and Lian Ke Ying received the ‘Best Student Awards’ in the diploma programmes, while Tay Yeong Cheng received the ‘Best Student Award’ for the certificate studies.
