MIRI: The General Operations Force (GOF) seized 20,000 litres of diesel and petrol during a raid on an unnumbered house in Tanjung Kidurong, Bintulu on Monday.

GOF Battalion 12 commanding officer Supt Tan Hiap Seng said the raid was carried out around noon after intelligence gathered indicated the premises was being used to store diesel without a permit.

“During the raid, the GOF team found 16,000 litres of diesel and 4,000 litres of petrol, kept inside tanks and drums.

“Four units of pump engine were also confiscated, believed to have been used to transfer the fuel,” Tan told The Borneo Post when contacted yesterday.

He added that a man believed to be a worker managed to evade arrest by escaping into a jungle behind the house.

“The value of the seizure, including the equipment, is estimated at RM52,840.

“The case will be handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs in Bintulu for further action.”
