SARIKEI: The Sarikei Division’s signature Sarikei Pineapple and Fruits Festival will be held on Nov 22 to Dec 1.
The main components of the event are Trade Fair, Agriculture Expo, Development Gallery and Exhibition, Sarikei Kitchen, educational talk and seminars.
Daily sports and skills competitions have also been drawn up, while the nightly programmes include cultural presentation, karaoke competition and Sarikei Got Talent.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas is scheduled to officially launch the festival on Nov 23 at the main stage in front of the Sarikei Civic Centre.
Local recording artistes scheduled to perform nightly are Nick Chung and Stella Chung, Bintang Klasik RTM finalists Mady Sapuan and Emma B, Sima Tawil, Linda, Rickie Andrewson, Ricky El, Mark Benet, Melissa Francis, Eyqa Saiful and Shidi Data.
Assistant Minister of Urban Development and Resources Datu Len Talif Salleh is
expected to close the festival on Dec 1.
