KUCHING: Centexs Commercial Services Sdn Bhd under the Centre of Technical Excellence (Centexs) yesterday launched the ‘Saratage.com’ website which will offer Sarawak heritage products for sale online in 2020.

The launching was performed by the chief minister’s wife Datin Patinggi Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang at Heritage Central Café here yesterday.

The e-commerce platform is powered and designed by Socoe Sdn Bhd, a technology company based in Sarawak, as an initiative by Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) – the driver of Sarawak Digital Economy initiatives.

The online marketplace, offering Keringkam, songket, beads, woven products and other authentic handmade Sarawakian products, provides local entrepreneurs access to a wider market.

Among the heritage products on display during the launch were Penan woven bags and traditional beads made by Centexs.

Socoe CEO Samuel Wong said the company is committed to provide high quality and timely delivery to influence the transformation of Sarawak into a digital economy.

“Our subsidiary, together with our international team put the products through value networks to rebrand and repackage them for the wider markets,” he said.

Meanwhile, users are encouraged to explore the website and sign up for direct emails from the Centexs Commercial Services at Saratage.com.

Also present was Deputy State Secretary Datu Dr Sabariah Putit, an avid supporter of Sarawak heritage products especially Keringkam, who continues to advocate for arts initiatives to preserve the rich culture and traditions of Sarawak.
