Firefighters net 1.5m croc roaming at housing estate in Lutong

The captured crocodile is said to measure 1.5m long, and weigh over 30kg.

MIRI: Firefighters caught a 1.5m crocodile at Taman Bayshore in Lutong here yesterday, following a call received from a resident there at 12.17pm.

The reptile is said to weigh more than 30kg.

Senior Fire and Rescue officer II Nasir Razali, who led the operation yesterday, said the resident spotted the crocodile inside a drain near his house.

“We immediately responded to the call and arrived at the scene at 12.32pm,” he said.

However, Nasir said it took his team nearly two hours to locate and capture the crocodile.
