KUCHING: The Sarawak government is developing a phone app called ‘Home2Grab’ to make it easier for the public to look up available houses with the price range they want.

Minister of Local Government and Housing Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, who said this, added that the app will let the users input their income, area and expected cost and a list will be generated on the available houses under federal or state housing scheme that meet their requirement.

“So this is like booking a hotel online. This allows the buyer easier access…go to application and see if they fulfil the criteria or not.

“This is the initiative of the Sarawak government, so that all the federal and Sarawak housing schemes will be listed together so you won’t be ‘kicked around like football’.

“Of course, we welcome the private (companies) to list their project under our app, for a fee. And it will become a one-stop centre for buyers,” he told reporters at a showhouse launching in Matang yesterday.

He added that Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Sheda) will be invited to work with the state government on including private sector projects in the app.
